The future of travel - some new ideas

There are many viewpoints on the future of travel, often seen as a fusion of cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and immersive experiences that redefine exploration. Pioneering ways of travel are appearing that offer access to remote and extraordinary destinations whilst maintaining and improving environmental concerns, as well as the challenge of maintaining cultural identities. A move we're very excited about. If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that the industry is evolving. And right now, we’re on the cusp of some truly transformative changes. Here's a few ideas to give you a little insight into some of the shifts.

1. Sustainability Moves to the Forefront

Sustainable travel is no longer just a trend — it’s becoming the standard. Travellers are more conscious than ever about their environmental impact, and we’re seeing a
growing demand for carbon offsetting, eco-friendly accommodations, and
low-impact itineraries. The future belongs to businesses that take
responsibility for caring for planet, not just taking from it whilst on holiday
and leaving it in a worst state than when you arrived — and we're proud to be
part of that shift as a B Corp company who want to do better.

2. Tech-Enhanced Experiences

Technology will continue to revolutionise how we plan and experience travel. AI-powered itinerary planning, biometric passports, and virtual reality previews are
already changing the way people explore the world. In the coming years, travellers
can expect smarter booking systems, seamless check-ins, and hyper-personalised
recommendations based on your preferences and travel history. But while
technology enhances convenience, we believe the human touch will always remain
key — expert advice, local knowledge, and real connection can’t be replaced by
algorithms.

3. Rise of “Slow Travel” and Workcations

The pandemic redefined our relationship with time and work. As remote work becomes more embedded in our culture, many travellers are extending their stays,
blending business with leisure in what’s now called a “workcation.” This has
led to a rise in slow travel, the part of this point that we're interested in— spending longer in fewer places, really soaking in the local culture.

4. A Return to Local

Interestingly, we’re seeing a resurgence in domestic and short-haul travel. UK travellers are rediscovering the beauty on their doorstep — from the Highlands of Scotland to the Cornish coast. This trend is not only more sustainable (if you avoid the high-tourist areas) but also more resilient in the face of global uncertainty. We love helping people fall in love with places closer to home.

5. Greater Focus on Wellness and Meaningful Travel

After years of stress and uncertainty, travellers are craving more than just a
holiday — they want to feel something. Whether it’s wellness retreats in the Alps, yoga on the beaches of Greece, or volunteer tourism in Africa, people
want their trips to enrich both body and soul. We see travel becoming more
purposeful, more mindful, and deeply personal.

6. A Spaceship like no other

The safest, most accessible, and first carbon-neutral human spaceflight experience.
Redefining the category of space travel, this is the largest spaceflight
capsule in existence. This journey willbe exhilarating and celebratory, with ample time for quiet contemplation. Astronauts refer to the impact of seeing Planet Earth from space as a paradigm shift that forever changes their outlook. With no heavy g-forces or training needed, this spaceflight experience is as easy as getting on a commercial air flight. Over six unforgettable hours, you ascend to the edge of space and join the lucky few—just over 600—who have looked down at our home from above. Available to book with us now, but expect to pay £125K for the privilege.

7. Sky Cars

Electric aerial ridesharing? Flying taxis? The sky could one day have a new aircraft cutting through it — one that’s much quieter, with fewer emissions, and that’s potentially safer than helicopters and even planes. These aircraft are called eVTOLs. One of the latest innovations in transportation technology, eVTOL aircraft are electric aircraft that take off and land going straight up and down. Short for electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, eVTOLs are sometimes referred to as air taxis or flying taxis. Powered by batteries, eVTOLs hover and fly, much like a helicopter, and are typically designed to carry two to six passengers, including a pilot. (A helicopter is considered a VTOL.) These "sky cars" offer unprecedented access to remote terrains, such as the buttes of Utah, allowing travellers to pilot their own aircraft over landscapes previously unreachable by traditional means. Ask us for itineraries that include a eVTOLs. Expect to pay more than usual for this experience.

8. Hybrid Airships

With buoyancy provided by the least reactive element – inert helium – this is the
chance to relive the golden age of slow travel in modern standards of luxury,
safety and sustainability. Available for private charter, expect to gaze out
over Africa’s great migrations from your elegant en-suite cabin or marvel at
Greenland’s ice cap alongside polar bear researchers – drink in hand from the
mixologist-served bar. Then, land almost at will, to explore with toys and
tenders, perhaps fat biking in the Mongolian steppe or searching for
desert-adapted wildlife with ATVs in Namibia. Available to book with us from 2029
onwards.

Looking Ahead

Travel is changing faster than ever before — and it looks to be a good thing, becoming more conscious, more connected, and more aligned with people’s improved values and understanding of the world and its fragility. We’re embracing this future with open arms, ready to guide the next meaningful adventure because one thing will never change: our desire to explore. Let us know if you want to customise this for a specific audience (e.g., luxury, adventure, family travel) or budget and we’ll get right onto this for you.
